A gift of thanks

Thanks to the maternity team at Redland Hospital, Josh Warren and his fiancée Caitlin welcomed both of their daughters, Maia and Freya, safely into the world. It’s a debt Josh has chosen to repay by giving back to the very ward that cared for his family by becoming a Redland Hospital Fund donor.

Maia’s birth in 2023 was a difficult one, an emergency caesarean that the hospital’s Midwifery Group Practice team saw them through with the kind of personalised care Josh still talks about today.

“The MGPs really went into bat for us,” Josh said.
When Freya arrived in January of 2026, the same team was there for the whole family.

“They took such good care of us and our girls, so we are very happy to give back.”

It was that exhausting, overwhelming first night as a new father and the care his family was provided that stuck with Josh most. Care that led Josh to donate funding for an Aspire Comfy Sleeper Chair, so the next father or partner in Redland Hospital’s maternity ward has somewhere proper to rest.

“If you’re rested, everything’s much easier. I wanted to make sure the next couple who go through the experience are comfortable.”
